Learning Outside the Box

Sometime, studying inside the safety of the four corners of our room is boring. Its like same old same old scenery. Honestly, there's a day in class when it became a snooze fest. We needed a little change every once in a while. We needed a little breeze from our face and a little invigorating sight so that we can breathe from our studies inside our room.

Last October 3 2013, the Makabayan students ,and the other Theodorians of course, had a "Lakbay Aral". We went from various places, from museums and historical landmarks, to recreational parks with awesome views. The people wanted it to be fun and enjoyable, at the same time, educational. We had a teacher in our coach. He is our tour guide, and he babbled a lot of things. Some students jutted down what the tour guide is saying, while some, did nothing.(I'm a part of those). It is nauseous inside our couch and we don't want to get anymore sicker than we already were.

The Makabayans first destination was the Museo ng Katipunan. The museum featured a lot of katipuneros, their history, what heroic deed they had done. Every corner of the museum had something to look at. The great thing about this museum is that, the spectators don't just stand in front of art, they can interact with it.

Our next destination was the La Mesa Eco Park. We had our lunch break here. Each section had a kubo where eating is possible. Makabayan had a little picnic. Our adviser was surprised because she didn't know that we prepared food as a whole.

Nice view right?
Upstairs, was the dam of La Mesa. Unfortunately, taking pictures of the dam was prohibited. I honestly don't get why.
Nonetheless, the
                                                                                     view there was
                                                                                     stupendous.

My bestest buddies since first year.

Then the Makabayans went to the Vargas Museum inside the University of the Philippines in Diliman.

Art here was mind-boggling. Some artworks looked so real, you wont believe its just a work of hand. Some had great details that it looked like a photograph. I can believe that concrete blocks could be art.

Like in Eco Park, we weren't allowed to take photographs in some part of the museum. Too bad cause all of the artworks was astounding.

Our next stop was the PAG-ASA Weather and Flood Forecasting Center. The people there taught us about cyclones, how they form, what are they made out of. I thought I should listen to them cause one of the programs I'm taking in college is associated with them.

Our last place to visit was the Quezon City Memorial Circle. It was raining that time so we didn't quite fully enjoy the park. The park was full of machine for work out and our group tried them all. There were stores scattered in the area and we bought food in there. Just a little tip, Kwek-kweks there don't taste like Kwek-kwek.
